小丽是中国农村基督教会圣乐队的一员。丈夫得了矽肺奄奄一息在住院,9岁的女儿盛悦拖欠学费被退学。
小丽每天在教会排练婚礼进行曲,这天迎来了一对农民基督徒在教堂的婚礼。婚礼后,小丽像往常一样去医院,但这次是拉丈夫出院,放弃治疗。丈夫死于途中,小丽拉着丈夫的尸体回家。经过简单的追思礼拜,埋葬了丈夫。小丽把仅有的钱给盛悦交了学费。

Xiao-li is an orchestra member of the church located in a Chinese village, with a dying husband suffering from pneumosilicosis at the hospital, while their nine-year-old daughter named Sheng-yue leaves school for lacking of tuition fee. Everyday Xiao-li rehearses the Wedding March in the church, and there, a pair of Christians is celebrating their wedding this day. After the wedding, Xiao-li goes to the hospital as usual, but this time she is going to take her husband for home, giving up any treatments. The husband dies on the way; Xiao-li rides her three-heel cart home with his body. The husband is inhumed after a simple memorial ceremony. Xiao-li uses their sole money to pay the tuition fee for Sheng-yue. Xiao-li and her daughter, sing the thanksgiving song at the dinner table.
