《在海边》纪录了祖辈闯关东的贾庆云一家，因东北生活困难，夫妻两人带着三个孩子又回到老家山东省并在老家的海边居住下来的故事。然而面对这一片祖辈生活过的土地，他们却没有一份自己的土地，也没有户口，没有房子。他们只有面对大海，重新开始顽强的生活。
