In 1960, China was in the age of famine, father and daughter living in poor rural areas together. Living in that sorrowful environment, the decisions made by each person bring different results, just as if the chickens do not die, they will not die. But the chickens are the nature, and people will make decisions based on their own nature, even if the consequences are not what they want.
