影片以多年前姑姑与侄子往来的书信展开。片中的夹江呈现为一处陌生景观，既有建设停顿留下的“遗迹”，也有大多数县城共有的日常生活。高元以陌生来客的旁观者身份观察一切，并在与姑姑看似聊家常的书信中，为这次闯入找到联结。

The film unfolds through letters exchanged years ago between the auntie and her nephew. Jiajiang appears as an unfamiliar landscape of stalled construction relics and ordinary county-town life. As an outsider, Gao Yuan observes quietly, finding connection through the seemingly casual letters that anchor his intrusion.
